So we continue to wait for grass. The sun doesn't shine. Temperatures at night are staying at freezing. And we continue to wait for grass. Which also means that we continue to wait for cattle. This leads to needing new activities...
Cliff and Thad lead a team to place 2nd in a Ranch Rodeo in Cody over the weekend. The real question was why didn't they place 1st?
It all has to do with this sorry cow. In terms of ridin' and ropin' our boys were clear winners. But this sorry cow had to be saddled and rode and once she was saddled, she decided to lay down. And she wouldn't budge. There was kickin' and prodin' and yellin' and she wouldn't move. Now some of you who have visited the ranch know, ridin' a heifer after she's been roped, might happen on occasion. No need for a saddle. So despite some experience on the side of the Hands, the 1st place prize was lost on account of this sorry ol' rip. It is awfully hard to have a respectable ride when your mount is laid down.
